Paris Club gives Mimiko N6.8bn to pay Pensioners, Workers -- APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State said the outgoing Governor Olusegun Mimiko has collected a whooping sum of N6.8 billion from the Paris Club to offset the arrears of workers’ salary and pensioners in the state.

The Party, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, said; "N6.8 billion was paid to the Ondo State Government purse on 30th of November, 2016, by the Paris Club to pay pensioners and workers salary arrears in Ondo State.

"We are also aware of the plans of the Governor to criminally divert and siphon the N6.8 billion pensioners and workers salary arrears into payment of contractors for some fictitious and incomplete projects in the state.

``Our advice to Governor Mimiko is to pay the pensioners and workers with the N6.8 billion Paris Club funds accordingly.

``The Party called on the pensioners and workers to be watchful of the Governor's wicked plot against them and rise up to the occasion, especially in this festive season.

``It is disheartened that while scores of workers in the state can no longer meet their financial obligations due to the six months’ salary owed them by the state government; Governor Mimiko is planning to divert the Paris Club fund into phony contracts with the sole aim of enriching himself and cronies," the statement reads.
