My Future As Arsenal’s Manager Is Not My Concern- Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has insisted that his uncertain future ‘is his last worry’ as he is focused on getting Arsenal’s season back on track.

Arsene Wenger has had to fend off fresh questions concerning his job at the Emirates Stadium, having seen his side convincingly trashed by Manchester City in Sunday’s EFL Cup final.

Wenger has batted away talk that he could be on his way in a few months’ time, though, and claims that it is business as usual ahead of Thursday’s league clash with Man City.

“Honestly, my position is the last worry I have, my focus is to get the team ready for the game,” he told reporters at his pre-match press conference. “We are in that kind of situation where you want to focus on the next game.

“I don’t ask if your position is reviewed at the end of the season. My job is to perform and it is for other people to evaluate.”

When probed if he was certain he would still be in charge come next season, Wenger said: “Will it stop you sleeping, that my position might not be certain or is certain? No. What is interesting in football is the performance, it is the game you will see on Thursday night.

“All the rest maybe makes headlines but it is not really interesting. I am amazed I have to answer about things that are exactly the same – I am here for 21 years and turned the world down to respect my contract.”
